Updates

Road Status as of Aug 2017

Lake Mary Road construction is in full swing. The road itself, from the south side Mormon Lake turnoff to Stoneman Lake turnoff, is now a dirt/gravel road. Posted speed limit is 25 mph as the road is quite bumpy and uneven. During daytime operations (till around 1600) there are several sections that require drivers to follow an escort as the road is one lane for several miles. During inclement weather the road is quite dicey and slick. Plan for extra travel time due to construction delays and weather. It's also worth noting that if you are traveling back to Flagstaff during the night, the abundance of highly reflective construction signage/cones make spotting wildlife extremely difficult and drivers should be extra aware.

US Forest Service notice of delays on Lake Mary Road.

Lake Mary Road construction delays through the summer

The US Forest Service has advised people to expect delays of about 30 minutes on Lake Mary Road between the Lower Mormon Lake Loop and the Stoneman Lake turn off between Apr 25, 2017 and Aug 31, 2017. Construction work will be on-going Monday through Saturday.

The project began this week (May 9) and includes widening and resurfacing portions of Lake Mary Rd, specifically from milepost 310 to 317.5.  I believe this is north of the Stoneman Lake Rd intersection.  The project also includes replacement of a bridge south of DCT, at MP 297.5.The county has advised people to expect delays of up to 30 minutes when passing through the construction zone.  Completion is expected for sometime in the fall, depending on weather.

Updated information about 2017Q4 Schedule is in the 2017Q4 Call for Proposals

For LMI, DeVeny, and NIHTS, the primary User Interface machine has shifted to dct-obs1.lowell.edu. This is instead of baggins.lowell.edu. The user name and password for dct-obs1 are different from those on baggins. See you TO when you are on-site for this information. If you will be observing remotely, please contact either your TO or Stephen Levine (sel .at. lowell) to get the updated credentials. Observing should otherwise look pretty much the same as before. If you notice a problem, please let us know.
