************************************************************************

This has been superseded with a new PDU interface as of 06/15/2010 see

Perkins IPC3402 PDU

for the new interface documentation

************************************************************************

There is now a network/remote power distribution unit(PDU) for
controlling power at the tail of the telescope. Until we get things
configured so that control can be accomplished via LOIS, you
can use the web interface with the PDU.

Using a web browser, connect to the URL

http://perkinspdu.mesa.lowellnet

or

http://192.168.0.30

It will ask for a account and password for log in
the first time. Use the obs72 login and password.

Currently you will only have control of ports 7 and 8.

Port 7 is the Mimir Argon Comparison Lamp
Port 8 is the Flat lamps

YYYcodeYYY
At this point and probably all the time you will need to
set your parameters for your flats, Narrow band versus
broad band and the intensity.

  • Once you log into the PDU web site you see a frame page that has the following in the main frame.

  • For example to turn on the Argon Lamp. Select the Argon Lamp check box number 7 and pull down the menu that initially said No Action and change it to On Immediate. Once you have done this hit the Next>> Button

  • After hitting the Next>> Button it will ask you to confirm the slection. Hit the Apply Button

  • The page will take you back to the original page but your outlet will be changed from a black Off to a green On

To turn off your selection, follow this instruction but with the change of On Immediate to Off Immediate

  • No labels
