LOIS Storage Errors
The Cause
This happens when either a path length gets too long or a directory fails to exist on startup. A good example of the reported error is in Larry Wasserman's status message of 12/28/2008 below.
The Fix
In the LOIS command window type the following command.
LOIS% store_config path=/saturn/data
This will reset the storage path to /saturn/data and allow you
to use the Storage Button GUI to reset your path and image names.

I seem to have gotten lois into a really weird state. I logged out as obs72, logged in again, and then restarted lois, but it's still doing the same thing, I'm not sure what happened, but it went nuts during a focus run and started rolling the focus. It then got an error and I was able to kill the focus moving in move. But now on startup, I'm getting an errno 2 and it says it's trying to store to /saturn/data/081228/focus/ focus/focus/focus/focus/focus/focus/focus.. If I hit the "storage" button, I get a ton of errors. I assume at this point since exiting as obs72 and restarting from scratch didn't cure the problem that something needs to be rebooted. It's now 3am, so I'm going to bail. Larry . _______________________________________________ 72status mailing list 72status@lowell.edu http://mailman/mailman/listinfo/72status |

All, When this happens the storage path has gotten really confused. The easiest way to fix it is to run the following command in the lois console window
