Here you will find the most up to date status of the telescope and the instruments along with the publicly available documentation, manuals. The science schedule calendar is shown below for reference.

Recent Activity

  • "Set Custom Image Path" has been removed from the Info view.

  • Measured instrumental+telescope efficiency curves with the 150, 300, and 400g/mm gratings
  • A new release of the IDL slitviewg package, and a description of such. The release introduces relative offsets in tplane and TV coordinates.
  • A notice about the current state of the slit micrometer
  • A more comprehensive spectrograph focusing procedure, with an accounting for anamorphic magnification and camera astigmatism
  • Grating tilt scales, and a few more pre-determined settings
  • Flatfield exposure count rate plots for the top end and low bank lamps, for the 300 and 400g/mm gratings

  • GetTemp button on LMI & DeVeny LOUIs has been deprecated. The temperature monitoring is now done via a dedicated app run by the operators. Observers should no longer worry about aborting the GetTemp script at the beginning of the night or starting the script at the end of the night.

  • The DeVeny LOUI has a new "Light Path" widget with positional information about the stages. Please remember that this is still experimental.

The PDU widgets (on DeVeny & JOE Client) have been modified. There is no login/logout buttons any more. In its place there are Enable/Disable buttons.

Please note that the DeVeny telemetry starts up when the PDU widget is enabled the first time. From that point on, telemetry should be OK even if the widget is disabled for safety reasons.

  • A new key command has been defined for the imager: F/f - a FWHM calculation in LOUI (the algorithm and the data is different than what is available to LOIS so the result is not identical to the C command)
  • A new product, Input Validator, has been created so observers can check their target lists and pattern function inputs in advance
